Marhta Teahan: My brother had a tonsillectomy recently and he said he felt completely fine after a few days and his throat didn't hurt at all. He really wanted pizza so he bought some and after eating it, he started spitting up copious amounts of blood because the scabbing in his throat opened up. I don't mean to scare you or anything but he had to go back in and have his throat repaired. I highly advise against eating any food that isn't soft or blended. I know it must suck, I'm going to get my tonsils out in five days, but just hold out for like five more days and then buy some :]Even if your throat feels okay, there are still unhealed bits where the surgery took place so it would be a huge risk doing anything strenuous or eating foods that could disrupt the healing process. some idea for soft food are mashed potatoes, like you had, soup without large chunks or with the chunks blended in, scrambled eggs in small bites, runny oatmeal or malt-o-meal, fruit smoothies if yo! u need vitamins, or applesauce. I know all of these sound really lame but in and out will still be there in a few days! Be smart....Show more
