Toshia Metzker: Do you have to list your height and weight on the app? If so, don't worry about listing your weight as a preexisting condition. And yes, they can go back as far as they want to. And being honest is always your best bet. You know, just to be safe, I would call your doctor's office and ask if the doctor listed a diagnosis of any kind for the visit when you talked about your weight. If he diagnosed you as being "morbidly obese" or anything of that nature, the insurance company may consider that a preexisting condition. But because you are talking about group coverage and I'm assuming that you are getting to enroll because you are a new hire or it's open enrollment time and in those cases, preexisting conditions aren't excluded from coverage. But as I said, you do need to be honest. If sometime down the road, you develop a condition that can be linked to your weight, and if you've not fully disclosed they can try and not cover the new condition. Romeo Tinnea: You have no pre- existing medical conditions - these mean diagnosed medical problems such as high blood pressure. Your weight is not considered in this area of the questions.
Myriam Hetjonk: Lawyers at insurance companies are funny. So, if they legally can only ask you about the last six months, then the lawyers won't let them print forms that ask for more.But, they can usually ask about the last 5-10 years depending on the company and state.
