How should the general lovebird care be?

Alane Antes: Have you taken care of it's food stuff?your bird requires a good diet and that is not just seed,it requires a good variety of green veg , such as Broccoli.Kale.Cress.Sweet Corn cob(never lettuce)if you are providing all of these then it does Not need vitamin supplements added to it's water or food. as overdosing them can cause you bird more problems.Now to answer your question,Talking with it is fine it will get used to your Voice and you.Only change the place of it's cage if it is really necessary as constant moving can sometimes unsettle it when it is used to one area of a room,Lovebirds do not sing , they Screech, and listening to another screeching will unsettle your bird as it will be "looking " for the other "bird" play music but not bird recordings.best of all Talk to your bird and it may pick up a few words if you repeat them as it is at the age where it can repeat and learn.Hope this has helpedAvian Care Consultant and Lovebird Breeder...Show more
