What are your favorite crafts to do with your preschooler?

Arlen Hamper: What i like to do with my little four year old is to make buildings out of popsicle sticks. This will teach him/her basic skills like problem solving that are necessary.

Armanda Hertel: Craft with play dough can be great fun and also a good opening for children to try out their creativity and use their imagination. Raul Tllo: I prefer open-ended art over crafts at this stage...mainly because most 3-4 year olds do not have the required fine motor skills and such to actually do the craft themselves. So, of course...they aren't reaping the full benefit of crafts.Collages and experimen! ting with painting is high on my list of appropiate art for preschoolers.

Kristina Brockwell: I taught 3 year olds and toddlers. Both groups loved painting with real life objects. I tried to relate these activities to the weekly theme related lessons. For example, when we talked about Community Helpers (vets, doctors, dentists) kids painted with dog biscuits, cotton balls, floss and a tooth brush. They also enjoyed painting with food, such as pudding, yogurt or applesauce. Once I did an activity where I put some kool-aid mix on paper and children spread the mix with a moist cotton ball. Ariel Arons: Ocean in a bottle was fun.Blue water, baby oil, glitter in a bottle. Shake it till there's no tomorrow.Also, paper Stanley was fun.We read a book about paper Stanley who was mailed all over the country and was sent to different people.
