Maria Bengston: person A for filing a false report
Cletus Crotts: Surely if person A signed it over, he has no right to accuse anyone of stealing it. He could be in trouble for defamation of person C, although this is a civil matter so the police wouldn't really care unless they want to charge him with wasting their time.
Rena Pepe: My guess is you are person C. Sorry but you have a problem, too. If the boat you bought was stolen, you will likely lose the boat. This is likely to end up in court and the key issue will be whether person A actually signed the title and sold the boat or not. Person B may be the guilty one and if so could be charged with theft. Unless somebody confesses, the court will have to decide. Keep the boat for now and only give it up if a court orders you to do so. The burden of proof that it was stolen should be on person A if you have good paperwork regarding your purchase. Good luck....Show more
