Pasquale Pollet: Tough one since I don't like television, but I still want to give it a try.⯠Family entertainment for big families that find going to the moves together hard to do. TV gives people a chance to watch entertainment for a lower price and in a more convenient setting. Families that are able to do things together has to be positive for society. This also goes for those that can't go to the movies because of disabilities. ⯠Information travels faster since there are so many that watches TV. The combination of images and sound also makes things easier to understand.⯠Education. Persons that would never pick up a book about "the Roman empire" or "the life of ants" will be educated somewhat on either topic or other topics like them while "channel surfing". (My husband zapped by animal planet not long ago and he now knows that the platypus male is poisonous. Good to know if he ever goes to Australia.) ⯠TV shows us how others think, different opinions, id! eas, cultures and religions. What we learn broadens out horizons and makes it easier for us to accept those that are different from us in society. ⯠There are TV shows that makes people react and go out and start making a change in their own community. Oprah's Angel Network is an example. ⯠Since TV shows makes things easier to comprehend they also raises awareness about what is wrong in society and gives people ideas about how to change or stop it. That's the best I can do. I hope that you find something that is useful....Show more
