Jinny Dronen: I agree with a previous answerer. You don't choose it.Did you wake up one day and was like, hey, I like chicks?Nope, it just kinda happened. And a guy isn't just like, hey, I like guys.It just happens.I'm not gay, but I know it's something thatyou wouldnt get unless it happened to you.
Jose Calaycay: im 100 percent for it and guesss what im also a catholic repulican .
Vita Moodie: Born gay, as gay as the wind blowsAs gay as the grass growsBorn gay to follow your heartLive gay and beauty surrounds youThe world still astounds youEach time you look at a starStay gay, where no walls divide youYou're gay as the roaring tideSo there's no need to hideBorn gay, and life is worth livingBut only worth living'cause you're born gay(applause. bow.)
Caryl Mclaen: im all for it.....if two people are in love with eachother, then it shouldnt be a problem...people have a right and nobody should be against it... marriage is a privelage, and people who are in lo! ve should just do what their heart tells them...
Maurice Breuning: I am AGAINST idiots using the internet.
Adrian Paraz: i am not gay, but i believe its a preference. reason i say this is because a preference is something that you prefer, like how i prefer rap over rock.and a choice is something you choose to do freely, and humans all have free will so they cant choose wheather they are gay or straight, or like this or that, and choices can always be changed. while preferences are hard to change.what do you think?...Show more
Cassidy Pangrazio: In the US there are more than 1200 benefits that come with marriage. Why should two consenting adults that are in love and committed to one another be denied those rights? I find it ridiculous that some governments feel it is their right to mandate who falls in love with who. I am definitely for civil marriage for gay and lesbian couples. Though I do feel that religious organizations should be given a choice whethe! r or not they are willing to perform same-sex marriages....Sho! w more

Mohamed Szollosi: The reason there's such a debate over whether it's a choice or not to be gay is because different people are defining "gay" different ways. The people who say "it's a choice" are defining "gay" as "having homosexual sex." It's a choice to have sex. You choose to have sex whether you're gay or straight. The people who say "it's not a c! hoice" are defining "gay" as "attracted to members of the same sex". You can't help which gender you're attracted to.Much of the conflict is a matter of semantics. So I say, you can choose who you have sex with, but you can't choose who you're attracted to, or who you fall in love with.
Carolin Southers: While the discussion on semantics is a valid one, it is important that it isn't a choice (believe me, I would have never chosen the life of ridicule and pain that comes with homosexuality). It is also a valid point that it is possible to have both a gay and straight identical twin. Scientists are looking into a possible "washing over" of hormones at or before birth (this would help explain the older brother phenomena). This may activate any gay gene that exists. Actually, I hope that the gay gene isn't discovered, because you have parents try to un-gay their kids before birth.
Antone Bual: it is not a choice. Salem witch hunt- a lot of people both gay and straig! ht were labeled as witches and burned to death. They also assumed back ! then that homosexuality was a form of witchcraft, so if someone was discovered to be gay, they were dead meat. These days it's not so drastic, but it's still really bad. Why would i "choose" to be a lesbian when my mom is possibly homophobic? Why would anyone "choose" to be gay under the pressures of this society? Until people get over their useless predjudices the world wont get anywhere. All this hate and intollerance will be the end of us.
Pam Rampadarat: Normal
Caleb Chapman: Genetic
Giovanni Malool: it happens... depends on the person...not all are like that... some are... some aren't
Derrick Kloke: Not gay marriage, marriage equality.
Sonya Volcko: Normal.

Hope Lundmark: The fact is marriage does not include and has never included homosexual couples so why do we need to change the definition of marriage now? What is the public reason for marriage? The answer families, bond between husband and wife, and attaching children to their biological parents. Marriage between a man and a women is considered natural law because it is only with in the heterosexual union that children are received into the world. Homosexual relationships are simply not the same as heterosexual relationships and should not be defined as if they are. The reasons the LGBTQ community want marriage are all private reasons.! Marriage is not a right to begin with and no ones rights are violated ! if they don't get married. Our society needs to stop pretending like males and females are the same and are interchangeable because they aren't. Simply put there is no such thing as gay marriage....Show more
Gordon Showes: Why not just let them do whatever they want in terms of sexuality, except maybe call it something else. Same thing, different name. no rights have been taken away from them this way. as for part of the question, im all for being gay. If someone chooses to do so, go for it and be happy....Show more
Neville Dautremont: I would vote that your brother is lying.True, priests don't NORMALLY expect everyone else to be gay, but since he's a teacher and must have been to school himself, he must know that there ARE gay people out there. If your brother had come out and ONLY gotten bad grades after that, maybe the priest was just jealous of him.I, too, excelled in English in HS, but my favorite was Biology....Show more
Avis Brantner: I'm saying stra! ight instead of normal because being gay or bi is normal as well, it's just not as common.
Brock Anwar: For, simple as that. It will protect people under the law, acknowledge equality regardless of sexuality, allow people to express their love for each other, and boost the economy a great deal.
Cordia Fivecoat: All these people getting triggered over 'normal', normal means common and most, and most people are straight. Stop getting angry over the right word. It doesn't mean that being gay or bi is weird.I'm straight.
Jen Maday: Normal.
Catheryn Small: Biological. There is so much that we don't know about genetics and how they work, how could we possibly use that as a reason for not having found a gene yet? Just a couple years back scientists learned that RNA is actually more important to our genetic make up than DNA, and all the studies done thus far have been DNA based (mostly due to limited funding for research on finding the "gay gene.")Also, th! e twin studies have been done based on observations and claims not gene! tic study (DNA/RNA.) My father is an identical twin and both he and my uncle are straight, however both of their daughters are gay. Does that prove anything? Maybe, maybe not.
Margart Stimpert: Science has studied twins and their sexual orientation. If being gay was entirely genetic and these were identical twins their genes would be the same. So if being gay was genetic and one was gay then the other would have to be gay too 100%..On the other hand if being gay was choice or preference then the likelihood for twins being both gay would be the same as in the general population, around 10%.So the results of scientific research have shown that if one twin is gay the chances for the other twin to be gay is 50%... Its between the results for genetic and choice. This means that genes do play a role, but they are not definitive. So the answers is genes plus choice or preference and not just one thing.
Dana Russian: Scientific researchers specializing in human se! xuality have repeatedly shown that homosexuality is genetic."Potential for homosexual response is prevalent and genetic," Santtila P, Sandnabba NK, Harlaar N, Varjonen M, Alanko K, von der Pahlen B.; Department of Psychology, Abo Akademi University."Genetic investigations provide strong evidence for a heritable component to male and female sexual orientation," Rahman Q.; School of Psychology, University of East London."Genetic research using family and twin methodologies has produced consistent evidence that genes influence sexual orientation," Mustanski BS, Chivers ML, Bailey JM.; Department of Psychology, Indiana University."The survival of a human predisposition for homosexuality can be explained by sexual orientation being a polygenetic trait that is influenced by a number of genes," Miller EM.; University of New Orleans."Human sexual orientation has a heritable component," Pillard RC, Bailey JM.; Department of Psychiatry, Boston University School of Medicine.edit>F. Doreatha Kjellsen: I am sorry but the religion section is that way -------------->You ask here of course the LGBT folks would support it. I am gay and I support it. I wanna be able to get married to my guy someday.
Wilmer Skidmore: Gay, bi and normal lmao
Rosella Figliola: Normal.
Otto Lingafelt: OK, so my teacher is a priest (my English and History teacher.) He likes me very much and I get A's and English is my favourite subject. However, I'm gay and I know a priest dont except that kind of thing so do you think that he might not like me anymore, or just ignore after that? My brother has told me stories about this, and they dont sound nice! , but I'm sure that he's lying (giving bad grades because he was gay seems so unprofessional.)What do you think?...Show more
Percy Seiger: Normal
Serena Doak: yes, marriage is for a man and woman, now i'm not against same sex people being together or a civil union, but don't call it marriage, this bs was just what politician's tried to do when two same sex persons wanted the same rights that married people have, ie....health benefits and being able to be listed on next of kin, or hospital visit list.
Glynda Darrin: I'm Asexual but by saying that straight is normal and gay and bi isn't, you're being prejudice, because gays and bi's have no instability, just because a gay person doesn't feel the same attraction as a straight person doesn't make them abnormal.
Lon Pennington: Normal.
Barton Morfee: Well first off, if you knew he was a Priest and knew priests don't approve of homosexuals then why did you tell him? Or did it just happen to slip and ! him find out elsewhere? Anyway, yes, teachers can be that unprofessiona! l. It happens all the time, even when the teacher isn't a priest and the student isn't gay. If a teacher doesn't like you, then he doesn't like you. And they do usually show it through grades. Trust me, my 8th grade Social Studies(History) teacher hated me because he knew i smoked weed and drank. I did all the work and got Cs usually on his texts and quizzes, but, what grade did i receive on my Report Card? You guessed it F. I asked why and he never game me a legitimate reason. Anyway the point of all this rambling is to show you that yes, teachers can be that unprofessional. And don't beat yourself up about it....Show more
Timmy Bustard: People are born gay. Get over it. You cannot try to "change" a gay person without causing them mental harm. I suggest you read up on the research on homosexuality.
