Aldo Decurtis: cell phones use to be much more expensive than land line service, but that is no longer the case... cell phones have come in line with, and now many are even cheaper than land line phone service.. if you have an alarm system that needs to be connected to a phone line, a satellite box, or fax machine you may want to keep the land line.. a corded land line phone will work in a power outage, but most cell sites should also work during a power outage, most are equipped with back up generators...Show more
Wilbert Shellgren: plain and simple. don't. get rid of it or sell it.
Antonia Mogg: If there is a power failure in the area near your home you may or may not have cell service. There is no FCC requirement that cell sites have backup power, so in a power failure situation you could very well be isolated.
Ronnie Sardi: I don't see why anyone would need one anymore; you always have a cell and it's always on; having something stationary that does! only calling doesn't make sense to me, but I am 19
