Adrian Paraz: It is according to what you want to accomplish.There are 3 types of DNA.Y which is passed from father to son.Mitochondrial which is passed from mother to both sons and daughters but only the daughters pass it on to their children.Autosomal which you get 50-50 from both parents. However when you get back to your grandparents it will not be 25-25-25-25. You get 50% from your paternal grandparents and 50% from your maternal grandparents. However it will not be an even breakdown of what you received from your grandmother and your grandfather on both sides of the family. How you inherited this bias will not be how yo! ur siblings inherited it unless you have an identical twin.If you are involved in genealogy Y & Mitochondrial can be very helpful enabling you to match yourself with others and their family trees.
